OSHA groups these four because that is where the bodies are. A 10-hour construction class will return to them in almost every module. A 30-hour class adds how a supervisor is supposed to stop the same events: inspections, competent person, and not waving people into an unprotected trench “for a minute.”
Falls still lead. Struck-by includes dump trucks, swinging loads, and powder-actuated tools. Caught-in/between is trench collapse and unguarded rotating equipment — in construction, a protective system is generally required at 5 feet unless you are in stable rock. Electrocution is overhead lines, missing GFCI on temporary power, and reaching into a panel that was never locked out.
Study tip: for each item, name which of the four it is before you pick A/B/C/D. Then drill fall protection, excavation, and electrical. For how this sits in a 10- versus 30-hour card path, read how to pass OSHA 30.
No. Focus Four is emphasized in Outreach courses, but this site does not issue a card and does not copy official tests.
Drill fall protection, excavation, and electrical until you score consistently high, then take a longer mock in the OSHA lab.
